My passion for interior design and decoration started at a very young age. Growing up with parents who were involved in the management and refurbishment of luxury country hotels and restaurants, I was constantly experiencing new styles of decoration and the practicalities of their use in an ever changing environment.
I went on to study fine art and textiles developing a great understanding of colour, pattern and texture, appreciating the colour palette and forms in nature which are often mirrored in fabric, furniture design and architecture.
Having worked as a painter and decorator, learning invaluable property refurbishment skills and then going onto further study fine art and theatre at Brighton University. This allowed me to co-ordinate all my skills from a two dimensional to a 3D angle with huge consideration for spacial analysis. I believe you can create any space you want with lighting being a key factor in changing and creating a mood.
The main emphasis of Hans on design is discovering what is in the client’s heart and the look they are trying to achieve. The space we are creating is their own and I realise that they are the ones who will be living in and enjoying these spaces for years to come. I provide a personal service, giving every space my personal touch. Creating classic contemporary areas by emphasising original features and blending these with the clients taste in artefacts and artwork. Hans on Design looks to create spaces that are relaxing, peaceful and individual in taste and nature.
